Ok, let's see...
does song commissions for reasonable prices. He does singer/songwriter comedy music in a wide variety of styles, has several albums out including one from the early 90's or so that was released on cassette, and plays live shows in the convention circuit, including furry conventions, although he really kind of does them all.
Tom Smith Online
The Invisible Band!
has been putting out albums since the early 80's. They're a psychadelic/space rock band based in the UK. They do live concerts on Second Life, although they can be booked for live venues if you're willing to cover their travel costs. They're an all furry band because they liked the avatars offered in Second Life. I don't think they're actually active in the fandom.
You also might want to consider putting out an open call on
. It's a website hub for the video game remixing community, and these folks are generally very serious about their art; I'm sure they'd jump at the chance of being able to develop for an actual game. The community has released a good handful of collaborative albums over the years, and all in wildly varying styles, although the most common are electronica, techno, hard rock, and classical.
Doug The Eagle
is a furry musician who is steeped in several fandoms and often reflects this in his music. His sound described as progressive rock in the 1970's to 1980's vein. He's got a handful of albums out, all free to download.
is a musician I discovered through the video game remixing community, although his work deviates from straight-up remixes. He does electronica influenced by drums n bass, although he's not afraid to mix it up with other oddball style combinations (in fact, according to his website, it's something he set out to do). He's got two albums and an EP out now.
Of course, that's just a few of the independent artists I'm aware of who might bite. It certainly couldn't hurt to ask them.
