Hey, everyone!

My name's Buck, music representative and engineer for RESOLUTE Games & Apps in Memphis, TN. Fall is coming up, and we're looking for some new music from known and unknown artists across the world for the sequel to our iPhone/iPod touch hit, Thumstruck.

Here's a early working example of easy mode from the first game to give you an idea of how the game works.

I've posted here because I'm confident that there's talent here waiting to be discovered, and I want YOUR MUSIC to be featured in our video game! We want players to have lots and lots of music from which to choose!

A lot of music games right now focus heavily on specific genres. Guitar hero has its rock, and DDR has its electronica. We're looking for an eclectic mix to appeal to all audiences. All genres are welcome, provided there is some melodic base on which to build a game track. Quality and playability are the key!

If you have any questions, you can e-mail, PM, or IM me (see my profile). If you are interested in looking into Thumstruck, you can find out more at http://www.resolutegames.com/?page_id=15 or on the iTunes AppStore. Google has a lot of good stuff, too.

Here's more info!Collapse )

Bangin' to: "Starsign" by Apoptygma Berzerk
To promote their upcoming summer tour, the band Coldplay has decided to give away their new live album "LeftRightLeftRightLeft" for free. They where planning to give away hard copies to the people who came to their shows for a while now, but that has recently extended to making the album available for anyone to download from their website.

An article with more information and a link that goes straight to the download can be found here.

Hay~ New to the comm :) I was wondering if anyone here has heard The Rasmus' new album? I have never heard it mentioned, so I have not been able to talk about how much of a huge disappointment it was D:

Bangin' to: "After All These Years" by Journey
So, has anyone picked up the new album by Journey yet?

I have, and I have to say, Revelation is really good. Surprisingly good, considering their new singer is a complete unknown from the Philippeans. The album is called Revelation, and their new singer, Arnel Pineda is known in the Asiatic for his melodic singing and being able to reliably cover almost any band from the 70's and 80's. Neal Schon, Journey's guitarist, found him on YouTube after the band's current singer, Steve Augeri, lost his voice on tour.

This is a return to form for the band. I'm a die hard, so I would have gotten this even if people were saying it sucked; but the fact that it is actually quite good makes me optimistic that the band is heading in the right direction. Arnel sounds even more like Steve Perry than Steve Augeri did, yet he has his own voice on the album...It's written by Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon, the two chief songwriters of the band, so Arnel hasn't contributed anything yet; aside from his vocals. We know he can write though, since back in the Philippeans he wrote a solo album and contributed much to his old band, The Zoo (some of his songs are also charting high over there. Revelation is expected to chart high on the US album billboards this week).

Most people take one look at it and see that it's not Steve Perry, but with this one you've got to let the music do the talking. So here are a few tracks:

Bangin' to: Over

Substance has been in the studio for the past week, and I got the rec tech to burn me what we had done so far...

Granted nothing's equalized or mixed down, I felt that these two tracks were worth sharing with my dear friends on LiveJournal, even in their rawest, incomplete form.

For you, my friends!

Rose... something sweet and sexy... I almost busted a gasket hearing this for the first time...

Free Falling... something cool and epic...

I love you! :D
